I believe that peer support is more than an occupation or certification - it's a way of life. Although my professional certifications include National Certified Peer Specialist, Certified Recovery Peer Specialist and a Copeland Center trained Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) facilitator; my most authentic credential is my lived experience. I have been providing peer support professionally since 2008 in the community mental health system, in-patient settings, and informal community settings. I have been a facilitator for Support Groups Central. for 3 years. My personal challenges with mental health issues allow me to provide recovery skills in a variety of ways including individual peer coaching, online and in-person support group meetings, and providing Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) training. I know first hand the struggle of returning to the workforce after a mental health crisis. My areas of expertise include Recovery Oriented Systems of Care (ROSC), the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), Social Security, and Medicaid and Medicare issues.
Chance Daniel ~ Just in Time Coaching
Hello to all! I am a Certified Life Coach and Peer Support Specialist. My area of specialty is working with folks coping with health challenges, whether physical, emotional, or mental, as well as folks coping with life challenges such as loneliness/isolation, family/relationship issues, grief/mourning/loss, financial hardship, or the world situation -- including Covid, environmental disasters, political chaos -- anything that makes you feel overwhelmed... Many find it helpful to talk to someone who understands from shared lived experience, and can offer support through compassionate listening, reflections, feedback, and suggestions, as suits your needs.

A bit about me: Professional: Certified Peer Specialist (8+ years), WRAP© facilitator (11+) Advanced Level WRAP© facilitator (6 years) Support Group Central Lead Facilitator (4+ years) 1 to 1 facilitator (4+ years) Dual Recovery Peer Specialist Adult Peer Specialist My lived experience includes: Addiction (including Hepatitis C diagnosis and Interferon treatment) Mental Health diagnoses Childhood trauma and neglect Anxiety, PTSD Adoption as a young child Parenting Domestic Violence and much much more... Personal: I'm a great listener and always keep it real as possible! How do we find and hold on to hope in a practical and useful sense when things become difficult and while being true to who we are as unique individuals? In remembering the times when I had no hope, life was dealing some pretty hard challenges, it was good to have those who supported me while I figured things out. Because of this I found my voice and learned to say "I know me best". Favorite quote: "Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can" ~ Arthur Ashe Really personal stuff: I love horses, my camera and fair trade chocolate :)

I am currently employed as a peer support specialist and has been for about a decade. I was Oregon’s first Youth Peer support Specialist. I have also been volunteering in my community for over ten years for all different types of people that struggle with challenges. I am well connected with other organizations, resource in the community and around the world. I also participates on different committees and advocacy councils around Oregon state. I am great at building social and independency skills. I works in strengths and recovery based support model. I am uber positive and will point out when I see you grow and notice your strengths. I am also great to work with for big life goals. We can eliminate barriers and gain the skills you need to be successful. I draw experience from a ruff childhood, being over medicated as a teenager, and the compounded struggles to reach a stable young adulthood. I started volunteering as a young kid to find healthy and safe attention with positive reinforcement that I couldn't get from my home. Being a youth activist, I attended every training and community event I could. I feel in some ways my activism/volunteer work has not only given me a free education but also filled in so many of the emotional intelligence deficits I had from trauma. Now, over decade later with my years of experience I use my energy to advocate for consumer survivor rights.

Meditation and practicality, these are my favorite tools for living with anxiety and my perceptions. Earlier in my life, these things were the means of my hospitalization, now they are material that I mold with every day. Some days feel like playdoh, dry bricks, or water; emotionally squishy, abrasive, or unable to get a grip. Peer support has become vital in my life not simply because I do this for a living, rather it's something worth living for, worth providing, meaning, and purpose. Peer support has given me the chance to create a life worth enjoying and I wish to facilitate the space for others to do their own journey. I don't know your path, and I would be honored to join you traveling it. Send me a message her on HeyPeers about scheduling a 1:1 meeting with me. Or send me a request to my email: alan.vreeland@nonclinicalsupportoptions.com I'm available Monday through Thursday in the mornings EST.
